Press Conference: Stronger role for cities and regions to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development - Second World Summit for Social Development.


UN-Habitat Executive Director, together with representatives of Member States and local governments, will present the United Nations Secretary-General's report outlining recommendations to strengthen the engagement of local and regional authorities in advancing and localizing the Sustainable Development Goals. The briefing will highlight the key findings of the report, including proposals to institutionalize the participation of local governments in the United Nations processes.
