(High level debate 2, Closing) First Leaders Meeting of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty - Second World Summit for Social Development.


The Second World Summit for Social Development takes place from November 4 to 6, 2025, in Doha, Qatar, focusing on social development issues and reaffirming commitments to the Copenhagen Declaration. World leaders come together to redefine strategies for social progress, strengthen global partnerships, and promote inclusive policies that foster equitable opportunities for all. The goal: to build societies that are more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable.

First Leaders Meeting of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty (GAAHP). This meeting will review global progress towards the Alliance's objectives, showcase the Alliance's accomplishments during the past year, issue high-level guidance for the Alliance's member and provide an opportunity for further commitments and momentum in the fight against hunger and poverty.

- High level debate 2 – Opening fiscal space, mobilizing financing, and reinventing international cooperation to put country programs at the center for the fight against hunger and poverty

  October 17th presents an opportunity to acknowledge the effort and struggle of people living in poverty , a chance for them to make their concerns heard, and a moment to recognize that poor people are the first ones to fight against poverty . Participation of the poor themselves has been at the center of the Day's celebration since its very beginning.
